Skins actor Jack O’Connell is to star in Dominic Savage’s new BBC2 coming of age drama about a diving star selected to compete at the 2012 London Olympics.
The two-part Dive, which has just gone into production, has attracted a big-name cast and crew, including Gina McKee, who recently starred in Fiona’s Story and In the Loop, and Ewen Bremner, who will be seen in the new version of Day Of The Triffids. It will be produced by Slumdog Millionaire’s Juliette Howell.
The drama will feature O’Connell – who played the wildchild Cook in E4’s teen drama – as Robert, the boyfriend of diving star Lindsey, played by newcomer Aisling Loftus, who is selected for the Olympic team but who has to rethink her life after becoming pregnant.
Lindsey’s story will be told in the first part and Robert’s in the second part.
